BioSTATS: 37, 5'11", light brown hair, blue-green eyes, divorced. Head of Pathology at Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital.
Nathan describes himself as being "as exciting as the average loaf of white bread." He was born the only child of happily married, nurturing parents, raised in a quintessential suburban neighborhood. He had above average grades throughout his schooling but is not a genius, was in the school band and on the Academic Olypmics team but not ostracized as a nerd, and was on the swim team but not regarded as an athletic heart-throb. He had the normal sort of childhood friends and while not considered "popular" was well-liked by his peers. Married in 1990, he and his wife Marguerite divorced in 1997 due to career interference but the split was amicable and they remain good friends, and he has a good relationship with his teenage daughter, Meghan. "I have no interesting traumas and my closet harbors no skeletons."
He is a quiet, even-tempered man by nature. He is not reticent but he doesn't seek out people, preferring to let them come to him if they wish to engage him in conversation. He is curious and likes to know the "why" and "what" of things, which is what led him to pathology. He is an avid reader of mysteries and science fiction, enjoys swing jazz and old musicals, and raises Discus cichlids as a hobby with over 30 aquariums scattered throughout his house.
